Journalism graduate Amani Kham tells us of her experience
BA (Hons) Journalism (2017)
"During the Journalism course at the University of Central Lancashire I was able to learn about the basics such as news, producing and interviewing skills as well as the legal and ethical side to journalism.
The course itself is very practical, for example, we would produce news programmes every week which allowed us to thoroughly understand how the input as well as output works.
The course requires using systems such as iNews and Avid Edit which are primarily used within the industry, this allowed me to hit the ground running at ITV. A great benefit to the course is the staff and the support they provide towards your progression.
The lecturers have all previously worked within the industry, which allows you to gain work experience within different organisations due to their contacts.

Since graduating I have become a journalist at ITV News and it's been a whirlwind - I've had tons of experience so far, such as winning the Outstanding Young Journalist award at the Asian Media Awards, chasing Boris Johnson through Euston station on national news to interviewing Premier League footballer Sadio Mane.
None of this would have been possible if it wasn't for UCLan.“
