Ian Bruce Woods
Ian is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and teaches a range of subjects across the School of Justice.
Ian is currently a Lecturer in Policing. Having started his academic journey studying in the hospitality field, Ian moved into a career in the police force where he has gained thirty years of experience in Operational Policing with Cumbria Constabulary. He also brings experience as a professional coach and mentor to his teaching.

Ian is currently researching the management of the existing approaches to wellbeing and resilience building in policing, as well as the wider criminal justice system in the UK, and how that may be enhanced through a more nuanced approach to the use of coaching and mentoring in these sectors.
