Olaug has worked part time at the University of Central Lancashire since July 2020. She is the lead for Evidence Based Practice for the Optometry MSc, and teaches across all topics on the Optometry and Ophthalmic Dispensing degree courses.

Olaug has also worked part time as a Problem Based Learning tutor for year 1 and 2 medical students at Lancaster University since 2019. She has over 20 years’ experience as an Optometrist and has worked in high street practices as well as in hospital settings. She completed her PhD in biophysics at Lancaster University in 2009.
