Omolabake Fakunle came to UCLan from Nigeria to study the one year BA (Hons) Business Administration Top-Up. She chose this course to enhance her understanding of global trends in business.
Since graduating with a First Class Honours degree, Omolabake completed an MSc in Education Research and is now working as an Education Researcher, working on research regarding the internationalisation of higher education with a focus on the experience of international students. She is also pursuing a PhD in Education.
During her time at UCLan, Omolabake gained several awards including the YABATECH Excellence Award which motivated her to initiate the UCLan Scholars Society and act as the inaugural chair. She also obtained the Futures Gold Award for employability skills. Since leaving University, she has received an award for best presentation at the EUSA Internationalisation Conference at the University of Edinburgh.
Speaking of her time at UCLan, Omolabake said; “My experience at UCLan started when my application was considered on an individual basis which was very encouraging. The staff and facilities available to me during my studies helped me make the best of my time and I cannot emphasis enough how my degree at UCLan has had such an immense impact on my life.”
