"About two years ago I decided to leave my home country of Austria to become a student at UCLan. Of course I was curious and excited at the prospect of moving to a new country as well as feeling scared and worried by the unknown.
Being the first student of the Vienna Business schools to study in Preston there were no former students I could talk to about what I was contemplating and what I should expect when moving so far from home.
Fortunately I was able to speak to the lovely employees at the International Office who patiently answered all my questions (believe me I had lots). They reassured me on the details and made me feel so welcome, even before I arrived in Preston.
Once I arrived at UCLan everything was so easy!
I made lots of friends, found a job and truly enjoyed my course of Business Administration.
There is always help available for everything from housing to financial advice and because Preston is quite a small city it is easy to settle in and just enjoy your time.
You have so many opportunities here to learn, experience and develop yourself!
Currently I am travelling the world but I will definitely do a Masters degree in the near future.
A career in Management is my aim, and to work in an international top team is my dream I am working hard to fulfil."
