New York senior creative designer Qi Taobai Visits Joint School.
The Joint School invited Senior Designer from New York Creative Center Ms Qi Taobai to provide students with in-depth knowledge of the industry. Ms Qi shared her experience of enhancing innovation and entrepreneurship.
Baoding, Hebei television exchange seminar is a success!
The Joint School had a visit from the local Baoding Television Company to deliver a seminar to the students further strengthening the cooperation between the joint school and industry. Students will have more opportunities to learn practical skills in the local Baoding television studios which will provide them with hands on experience and training, combining theory and practice.

Deputy Vice Chancellor Liz Bromley alongside Vice-President International, Tim Steele, and Michael Ge, Regional Manager for China visited the Joint School recently for a joint management meeting and to visit the Joint School, having the opportunity to see the new teaching facilities and studios and meet with the staff.

HBU-UCLan School of Media, Communications, and Creative Industries, Timothy Chan Lecturer for Interior Design was interviewed by the local Baoding Television, discussing how interior design can create a happy home. Timothy has over 25 years of Interior design and training experience and will be course leader for the BA (Hons) Interior Design programme at the Joint School from September 2017.
HBU-UCLan School of Media, Communications and Creative Industries staff visit Beijing 798 Park.
This year the staff from the Joint School visited the Arts District in Beijing ‘798 Creative Park’ to view Chinese art and design work. During the visit the team learnt about the local cultural differences with art and design between the UK and China.
Senior Lecturer, Paresh Parmar visits Joint School.
Senior Lecturer, Paresh Parmar visited the Joint School to provide a seminar of ‘British Design in Traditional Culture’ giving students more insight to this subject area as well as spending time to talk about UCLan in Preston and providing more information about Postgraduate provision at UCLan.
University of Central Lancashire Staff visit creative project.
This year saw another successful UCLan staff and student group visit to HBU-UCLan School of Media, Communications and Creative Industries. During their time in Baoding the UCLan students joined with HBU-UCLan students to undertake a creative project both on the media side (conducting interviews on film) and design side (using photography) to collaborate together to create a piece of work. Whilst in Baoding the group took advantage of their unique surrounds such as the ancient Lotus pond, giving them the opportunity to explore. The visiting delegation strengthened student’s links between the UCLan students and Joint School students as well as supporting the staff.
Animation End of Year Exhibition
Charlotte Blacker, Course Leader for Animation in the Joint School organised an end of year exhibition for the students on the Animation course to showcase their work from this past year. This gave students an opportunity to invite family, friends and colleagues to celebrate their success.
