    Harris bursary fund

“Having two small children to support balancing full-time study has been a real financial worry. My partner is unable to work so my family survives on my student finance and child tax credits. The pressure of not being able to afford everyday essentials such as food was really getting me down and I was finding it hard to concentrate on my studies."

"I received £300 in food vouchers just before Christmas which really helped to ease the cost at this expensive time of year. It also meant I could free up other money to pay other bills, lifting further pressure off our situation."

“In the future I hope to open my own business using the skills and qualifications I’ve acquired at UCLan. Most importantly I hope I will be able to provide my family with a secure future, set them a good example and give them something to aspire too."

Jodi’s Advice

“I would encourage students who are in hardship to apply for the Harris Bursary Fund because they can really help when you are in a difficult situation. Do not be afraid to ask for help, the team are very understanding and take all situations into consideration.”

Jodi’s thank you
