Gabrielle Ball always knew that fashion was going to be her desired career but, like many, wasn’t too sure which avenue of the industry she wanted to go down. Because of this, Gabrielle enrolled on the BA (Hons) Fashion Brand Management course, which she says allowed her to express both her creativity and business mind-set.
During her time at UCLan, Gabrielle recalls countless late nights spent in the library but says her most lasting memory is being nominated by the University to showcase her my final exhibition at Graduate Fashion Week in London. She said: “It’s an experience I will never forget. I made it into the top ten fashion marketing students in the UK – something I am so very proud of.”
The Fashion graduate now works as a fashion content and campaign executive for online giant, JD Williams. “I am responsible to help create our seasonal campaigns, and work alongside photography, the creative department, and branding, to ensure that the marketing that we create isn’t just beautiful, but achieves results too,” Gabrielle says, but also admits: “Without my degree, I would not have the life and career I have now. It allowed me to discover what I am great at, and become an expert in the fashion marketing field.”
The University clearly left a lasting impression on Gabrielle as she still counts UCLan as her happiest memories, despite a successful early career.
“My time at University was genuinely the best three years of my life,” she says. “I couldn’t even write down all the happy memories that I made at UCLan – I would need my own book! Yes, the University is small in comparison to others in the country, but it’s that which makes it special. Everyone gets to know everyone, and you become a family.”
