Chris Wright graduated in 2007 with a BEng (Hons) in Motorsport Engineering.
During his time at UCLan, Chris maintained a great interest in engines and engine management, gaining extensive hands-on dyno experience. As part of his degree, he completed a very successful placement year with Holeshot Racing.
“I also hold the honour of being the first (but not the last) to blow up a Formula Student engine on the University’s dyno - which shows you really can learn by making mistakes!”
Since graduating, Chris has worked in engine track support, test and development for AET Motorsport and Zytek Engineering.
Having gained experience in Land Speed Record attempts, F3000, A1GP, LMP2 LMS and 24 – Hour Racing, Chris naturally progressed to Cosworth Ltd, becoming an F1 Analysis Engineer working trackside with AT&T Williams and the Marussia F1 Team.
In 2013, Chris gained a promotion to become a Calibration Engineer for the Marussia F1 Team, responsible for the team’s engine performance. He is now currently working for Mercedes F1 engines.
