Visit to Los Angeles USA

Places of interest visited include: Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Griffith Observatory, The Getty Center, California African American Museum, Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.

The museums suggested give a good insight into different aspects of psychology for example the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust will be a good place to gain understanding into the mind-set of people during the Holocaust and explore the topic of authority and obedience (social psychology). The California African American Museum also gives a good insight of the issues related to the effects of segregation on white and black people (social psychology). The museums widened our knowledge of the American history and culture. An industry of death museum relates directly to their course as it gives an insight into the history of psychiatry and displays exhibitions focusing on how psychiatrists used to treat people with mental illness.
