Applicant Days

If you’re thinking about studying at The University of Central Lancashire then our Applicant Days are not to be missed. You’ll not only learn more about your chosen course, but you can find out more about why we’re one of the top universities in the world.  You can make the most of your Applicant Day by planning your day around your subject-specific talk.

What is an Applicant Day?

Even if you’ve already been to an Applicant Day or if we are your firm choice, this is your chance to see exactly where you’ll be based, meet course tutors, other applicants for the same course as you and even current students who have gone before you, all strengthening that excellent choice you’ve made!

Some of our courses invite students for an interview or audition day instead of an Applicant Day, which will include lots of information about your course and the opportunity to take a tour around our campus.

Booking for our Applicant Days 2017 entry will re-open in late 2016. Watch this space for further details. In the meantime, discover the great ways to visit our Preston Campus, from Open Days to Campus Tours – we have something for everyone!

What happens on the day?

Arrivals & Registration

On arrival, check-in at the desk – this may vary in location depending on your course, but full details will be sent to you.

Subject Talk

You’ll get to meet your future course tutors and hear more about the course you’ve applied for - you can ask all the questions you want both from them and our current students.

Campus Tour

If you’d like to explore further, you can go on one of our campus tours, taking in all our facilities like our 24/7 library, our purpose-built sports centre just for students, places where you can eat – and drink – and some of the lecture theatres, classrooms, labs or studios you might be studying in.

Accommodation Tour

Thinking of living in Preston? Our accommodation is close to campus, and close to the city centre – nothing is more than a 10 minute walk away, and being in the north of England, you’ll find our accommodation great value for money. Take a look at our halls, flats or en-suite accommodation and experience how easy it’ll be living away from home.

Visit Preston

Take a look round the city of Preston – you’ll be surprised how vibrant it is with plenty of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, all just a short walk away. We’re a little city with a big personality!

Food and Drink

After all that, you’ll be ready for a sit down- so have a chat to our staff and students over lunch and sample our complimentary menu on offer in one of our many food outlets.

What happens if I’m unable to attend?

If you’re unable to attend on one of our Applicant Days, find out more about Open Days and our Campus Tours as a great alternative to seeing the campus and finding out more about your chosen course.

Look out for your letter from Admissions in the post, but if you have any further queries regarding our Applicant Day, please get in touch on 01772 894444 or email us applicantdays@uclan.ac.uk.
