PRE-ARRIVAL CHECKLIST

welcome burnley

Welcome to the University of Central Lancashire's Burnley Campus. You're just a few steps away from starting your university career and our handy pre-arrival checklist is designed to answer some of those questions and queries you may have. Read on below for further information on starting your UCLan experience.

STEP 1

Campus Tours

If you’re starting with us in September, we recommend you visit the campus beforehand, where you can have a guided Campus tour and possibly speak to staff and students from the course. Get in touch and we will arrange a mutually convenient time!

Campus tours last approximately one hour and can be held at any time during the week between 10:00 am- 4:00 pm Monday – Thursdays and between 10:00am-3:00 pm Fridays. The tours are delivered by dedicated staff and student ambassadors currently studying at the Campus, so you can find out first-hand about the benefits of studying at UCLan Burnley.

We will endeavour to answer any academic queries you have on the day, however please note that we are not able to guarantee lecturers are available to discuss all course-related requirements in detail. If you need to meet an academic to discuss a specific course please ensure you email the campus uclanburnley@uclan.ac.uk

For further information or to register your interest in visiting UCLan Burnley, please contact Sameeha Raja, who is based at the Burnley campus, on 01772 896055, or email SRaja3@uclan.ac.uk.

While if you apply for a student bank account before you arrive at university, you could take advantage of incentives such as free gifts and an interest-free overdraft.

We’ll also need to see proof of the qualifications that were a condition of entry on to your course – these should be the highest qualification you’ve gained.

step 6

You should have received an email from us which will allow you to validate your personal email address if that is the one you've provided. If you have not received this email, and it's not lurking in your junk mail, please email uclanwelcome@uclan.ac.uk

Once we've validated your personal email we'll set up your own personal account on our University network, and email you with your username and password. This will allow you to access course information, resources, campus Wi-Fi and a range of facilities to support you during your studies.

You'll also notice that your username forms part of your UCLan email address which is: username@uclan.ac.uk. Your University email account is provided through Microsoft 365 service. You will benefit from a large mailbox, OneDrive and access to online Office applications, all of which you can access from anywhere with an internet connection.

Get started and log in to your email account using your username and password.

 step 8

Online enrolment

Enrolment is the formal process which will confirm your status as a student at the University of Central Lancashire.
