IT Skills and Information Skills Training

The library offers support services that complement our WISER service.

Visit the IT Skills page for help with using Microsoft Office - Word, Powerpoint, Excel and OneNote.

The Information Skills page offers you help with using the Library resources - finding books, searching for journal articles and formatting your references.

Make an appointment for specific 0ne-to-one help through the Ask the Library Trainer service.

The Student Union

The Student Union Advice Centre can help you with:

  • Disciplinary procedures, i.e. advice & representation on things such as plagiarism and collusion
  • Complaints about academic issues, i.e. appeals, complaints, problems with courses
  • Benefits, i.e. checking benefit entitlement
  • Housing, i.e. checking contracts & advising on landlords obligations
  • Money, including dealing with debts, funding problems

Professional advisors are on hand from 11:00am - 3:00pm Monday to Friday.

Peer Mentoring service

The Peer Mentoring Service is UCLan’s centralised mentoring service responsible for co-ordinating fantastic peer support, advice and guidance.

They have five programmes which provide a great range of support from academic and personal, to emotional and mental wellbeing, to boosting confidence and befriending.
