Certificates & Transcripts - Former students

The University of Central Lancashire can issue the following documents to former students seeking verification of awards/attendance:

Replacement Certificates

Statement of Achievement/Attendance

Replacement Transcripts

DOATAP documents – applicable to Greek students only

Replacement Certificates

If you have lost, damaged or destroyed your original certificate, the issue of a replacement certificate is dependent upon the date on which your award was conferred as follows:

Awards conferred since July 1992

A replacement certificate is available from the University and will be issued to applicants bearing their name as recorded at the time of the award. Certificates are printed on official watermarked stationery bearing the Crest of the University and authorised signatures. Replacement certificates have precisely the same standing as the original and are produced in the format currently in use.

Certified Certificates are also available at an additional cost, containing a statement verifying the authenticity of the award and signed by an authorised Officer of the University.

If you wish to apply, please order from our online shop.

Awards conferred in June 1992 and earlier fall into 3 categories:

CNAA (Council for National Academic Awards). CNAA was responsible for awarding polytechnic degrees. In 1992 the Open University became responsible for the verification of CNAA awards. The OU can provide a document for you which is in the style of a certificate and states the relationship of the OU with regard to CNAA records. If you wish to apply for this document please go to: www.open.ac.uk/cicp/main/validation/awards-and-aftercare

Edexcel/BTEC. Responsible for the issue of Higher National Diploma (HND) and Higher National Certificate (HNC) awards, Edexcel can provide duplicate certificates for students who completed their awards between 1984-1992. Apply here.

Preston/Lancashire Polytechnic Awards. Replacement certificates are not available. However, you may apply for a Statement of Achievement as described below.

If you need further advice about your application or which of the above categories applies to you, please email: awardsoffice@uclan.ac.uk or telephone: 01772 892447.

Statement of Achievement/Attendance

A Statement of Achievement/Attendance is a summary statement containing details relevant to the applicant including: dates of attendance, course/programme of study and result obtained (where applicable).

Statements are printed on official letter-headed stationery and are signed by an authorised officer of the University.

To apply please visit our online shop.

Transcripts

A Transcript lists the modules undertaken, credit value and grades achieved during your course, (where this information is available from the University’s records). Your overall result will also be indicated.

Transcripts will be issued to applicants bearing their name as recorded by the University at the time of study.

Transcripts are printed on official watermarked stationery bearing the University's logo.

The availability of transcripts depends upon the records maintained at the time of your attendance. Prior to 1999 transcripts are not available for all former students. If it is not possible to issue a transcript, the University will provide a Statement of Achievement/Attendance in its place.

Certified Transcripts are also available at an additional cost, containing a statement verifying the authenticity of the award and signed by an authorised Officer of the University.

To apply please visit our online shop.

DOATAP documents – applicable to Greek students only

Greek students may apply for a DOATAP letter and accompanying transcript as required by the Greek Government. The documents can be sent directly to DOATAP or to you and will be placed in a sealed envelope.
