Remote Access

Remote Access enables you to access your files and email on a Computer with internet access.

What software is available?

The following software is available on Remote Access:

  • Microsoft Office 2010 Applications - including
    • Word
    • Excel
    • Powerpoint
    • Access
    • Visio
    • Project
    • Publisher
        
  • My Files - Access to files saved on the UCLan network
  • PDF Reader - replaces Adobe Acrobat 9
  • eLearn - access to the Virtual Learning Environment


How do I access Remote Access?

You need to use your UCLan username and password to login to Remote Access.

When accessing applications for the first time, please follow the relevant guide below:

About the Remote Access Screen (Windows)

 

Please note: If you are using Remote Access on a Mac then you need to ensure that pop-us are not blocked.

 

Do I need to install any software to use Remote Access?

If you have Windows 7, Vista or XP this new service has automatic client detection and download. The Citrix software determines if you are using the most compatible version of the software.

Printing

You should be able to print to the default printer attached to the computer you are using. Please make sure that the printer is switched on before you login to Remote Access.

 

Using Remote Access with a screen reader

You can use Remote Access with the Window Eyes screen reader. Please contact Customer Support and Technical Services if you need any assistance with this.
