Steve is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor and has over 20 years experience of preparing students for the rigours of the professional accountancy exams as well as in the higher education field.
He specialises in Strategic Business Management and Taxation but also teaches Management Accounting, Law, Economics and basic Financial Accounting.
Steve is a member of the ACA and the CTA.
Steve attend the University of Sheffield from 1990 to 1993, obtaining a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics.
He then joined Ernst & Young in Manchester in their audit department and over the next 3 years obtained experience of a wide variety of organisations. During that time he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
After qualifying he joined The Financial Training Company (now Kaplan Financial) in 1997 to commence a career in education.
Since joining he taught on Kaplan’s ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, AAT, ATT, CTA, CIPFA programmes. He has specialised in Strategic Management and Taxation but also has extensive experience of teaching law, economics, management accounting and basic financial accounting.
In 2001 he qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor.
He still freelances for Kaplan when his UCLAN schedule permits. At UCLan he currently teaches on the Economics module and the Business Strategy module but he is always willing to chat about any aspect of the degree programme.
He tends to have a view on everything and will gladly give anyone advice/support if they need it. You just have to ask!
