Full Profile

Sharon is a graduate of the University of Bradford where she achieved a BSC Honours degree in physiotherapy (1999).

Upon graduation Sharon has worked primarily within the NHS within East Lancashire Hospitals Trust and Bolton Foundation Trust. She completed all core rotations before specialising in neurology and rehab, an area which she has specialised in for the past 14 years. She has completed many internal and external courses to support her career and is Bobath trained to an advanced level.

Working within an acute hospital Trust has enabled her to keep up to date with the fast evolving culture of the NHS which she is able to pass on to the future workforce

Sharon has had links with UCLan for a number of years as the placement co-ordinator and student liaison for ELHT which prompted her to become more involved in the academic side of physiotherapy and joined the team full time in 2017.

In order to maintain and keep up to date with the workforce and new practices, Sharon maintains an honorary contract with ELHT where she delivers training sessions and runs problem clinics to support the clinical staff.
