Paola is a public health epidemiologist and leads the Public Health and Applied Epidemiology research group within the School of medicine and dentistry. In addition, Paola is the Associate Director (Quality Assurance) for the Lancashire CTU.

Full Profile

Paola is a public health epidemiologist and leads the Public Health and Applied Epidemiology research group within the School. She previously worked at the Centre for Cancer Epidemiology at the University of Manchester. She has a particular interest in the evidence-base for prevention strategies and health service organisation and has published the findings of 12 randomised controlled trials. She works across schools in the University providing methodological expertise and is part of an interdisciplinary research and teaching group, Cancer@UCLan. Her current research interests include cancer awareness and early detection, functional limitations in obese adults and knee pain in young adults.   

As the Associate Director (Quality Assurance) Paola is responsible for establishing quality assurance standards, compliance and monitoring protocols from inception to final completion and dissemination.
