Muqi Wulan is a lecturer in engineering. Her teaching specialises in product design and mechanical engineering. Meanwhile she is research active within the area of digital engineering and is a member of the Advanced Digital Manufacturing Technology Research Centre. Currently her main interests are around risk/uncertainty analysis using imprecise prediction and real-world applications, cloud technology for manufacturing, and enterprise interoperability. Prior to this, Dr. Wulan had taken academic and research posts in Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, China and Coventry University, UK.
Muqi Wulan started her academia career since she took up an academic post in Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, China in 1998. She contributed to teaching in engineering design and supervised research students up to the postgraduate level. Muqi explored further research interests and gained more experience in research methodology and management systematically. She had investigated comprehensive issues concerned with product design, agile requirement engineering for product innovation, product information integration and knowledge management in the process of design and manufacture even in the whole life cycle of complex products, and collaborative product design and development based on network. Later she worked in Coventry University, UK, and contributed to a research project funded by European Commission.
Muqi’s research and expertise are mainly of risk/uncertainty analysis using imprecise prediction, system reliability, semantic modelling of enterprise capability, manufacturing network performance, knowledge-oriented enterprise collaboration, and enterprise interoperability.
