Louisa is a member of the International Football Institute.
Louisa Jones is a Lecturer in Hospitality, Tourism, Sport and Leisure Management, and is the Course Leader for BA(Hons) Top Up suite of programmes.
Prior to her appointment, she was involved in teaching and curriculum development at a Turkish University. She has subsequently been a mentor to World Bank fellows visiting the UK from Turkey.
She also has a particular interest, derived from her MSc in Business Administration (Information Technology), in the application and role of Information Technology in Hospitality, and was involved in research assessing software suitability for Sports Facilities.
She is currently involved in examining the role of Personal Development Education modules in the curriculum. As part of her role in Research, Louisa is also responsible for supervising final year dissertations and projects. Previously, she has taught in the areas of Tourism and Leisure, the Hospitality Environment and Hospitality Planning.
Louisa has represented Course Leaders on the University’s Academic Board, and is currently a member of the University's Validation and Review Panel.
Louisa’s teaching is currently at final year undergraduate level, in the areas of Strategic Management in the Hospitality, Tourism, Sport and Leisure Industries, Personal Development, Reflection and Achievement, and Hospitality Issues in the 21st Century.
As Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Top Up Programmes, Louisa is responsible for admissions to the degree. Additionally, she provides academic and pastoral care for students during their time at the University. This support and guidance is extended to the students on placement whom she visits both internationally and in the UK.
