Lisa has worked for the University since 2004 teaching study skills, English for specific purposes, English for academic purposes and general English. Prior to joining UCLan she taught general and business English abroad.
Since joining Lancashire Business School in 2007 Lisa has taught embedded academic support classes on a range of undergraduate business, finance and PR programmes. The sessions are delivered to international students and are designed to reflect their degree study and to develop their academic skills. In addition to timetabled sessions Lisa also gives advice to students on a range of academic issues through one-to-one tutorials.
She is a part of the Lancashire Business School Student Support and Achievement Team, and liaises with colleagues on pedagogic issues involving international students.

Lisa's research interests include the impact of support on student transition, culture and language in the HE classroom and academic socialisation.
