Since qualifying as a Sports Therapist in 2007, Lisa worked as a Senior Lecturer in Sports Therapy at Edge Hill University whilst gaining her UCAPD in Sports Massage, PGCHE and MSc. Lisa has provided vocational training in sports massage and has worked in private practice and sport at all levels. Lisa joined the UCLan teaching staff in November 2015 as a Lecturer in Sports Therapy whilst continuing her role as Head Soft Tissue Therapist at St Helens RLFC.

Since qualifying as a Sports Therapist from the University of Teesside in 2007, Lisa has held numerous positions working within higher education, further education and professional, semi-professional and amateur sport. Lisa worked within various sports therapy roles for Wales U18 Girls Hockey, Preston North End Womens FC, Umbro International Football Tournament, Lancashire Senior Mens Hockey, Lymm Hockey Club, St Helens RLFC and Catalan Dragons RLFC adding to her experiences as a undergraduate student at Wigan Warriors RLFC and Chester City FC. Lisa then went on to work as a Sports Therapist within various private practices before developing her own private practice where she has worked with a range of people with diverse sporting backgrounds, including hockey, rugby, cycling, boxing, running, football and yoga and Pilates. She is currently is the Head Soft Tissue Therapist at St Helen RLFC and runs her own private practice.

In 2008 Lisa became a Lecturer in Sports Therapy at Edge Hill University where she taught on the BSc Sports Therapy and MSc programmes. Additional to this Lisa completed her Level 4 UCAPD in Sports Massage and VTCT / SMA Tutor and Assessor Award in which led to her delivering vocational training for sport massage for external providers and within the department. Lisa then went onto complete her PGCHE and gained membership as a HEA fellow. Lisa continued to develop her academic profile through embarking on her MSc in Evidence Based Medicine and Practice in which she completed in 2014. During her time at Edge Hill University she developed her research interests from her MSc and engaged in collaborative research within the department. Lisa has a keen research interest in injury audit and effects of soft tissue techniques and application on recovery of injuries.

Lisa joined the teaching staff at UCLan in November 2015 as a Lecturer in Sports Therapy with her main focus to enhance the delivery of the BSc Sports Therapy programme, create placement opportunities for students and develop links with external providers to enhance the student experience.
