Jim Ingham's background is in cultural geography with a particular interest in the geographies of new media. Jim teaches on the Media Technology courses and co-ordinates the running of foundation degrees at partner colleges. Jim is producer for the BBC programme On the Wire.
Jim's current motion capture research involves collaboration across the University, with work currently being done with the School of Health, the School of Art, Design and Performance and the School of Computing, Engineering and Physical Sciences.

Jim is involved with a number of projects involving motion capture, with particular interest in using motion capture for the spatial analysis of body movement.
Jim has supervised PhD students in the area of motion capture and graphics.

Jim is Course Co-ordinator for FD New Media Design and Technology / FD Media Production and Technology. The Foundation Degree currently runs at Burnley College, Southport College, Furness College and Wigan & Leigh College.
