Jill’s background is largely within mental health acting as a Social Worker, Social Work Team Manager and shortly afterwards the integration agenda within mental health services led to this becoming a multi-disciplinary management post within the Community Mental Health Team. Approved Social Work duties continued prior to taking up post at the University.

Prior to and in between University courses, Jill has worked with different social care providers, including residential and day care provision for individuals experiencing mental health problems. Jill also spent some time working in a hospital Acute In-patient Mental Health Unit.

Teaching Activities and Responsibilities

Current Teaching/Course Responsibilities

Jill is a Personal Tutor to students on both BA and MA Social Work degree courses, and on the BA (Hons) Community and Social Care course. Jill is Course Leader for the PG Cert/PG Dip/MA Approved Mental Health Professional programme and heads the Course Committee for this.
