Fiona teaches broadcast journalism, specialising in television and digital video production. She worked for the BBC for over 20 years, reporting, presenting and producing radio and television news. She spent 8 years producing the BBC Regional News programme NorthWest Tonight, winning two Royal Television Society Awards.

As a BBC manager, she was responsible for upholding editorial standards and coaching journalists. Fiona also works training experienced journalists and as a media trainer for a variety of organisations.

Fiona teaches broadcast journalism to undergraduates and postgraduates.  She specialises in television and digital video production, and live television news.  She also teaches radio and online journalism.  She worked for the BBC for over 20 years, reporting, presenting and producing radio and television news. She spent 8 years producing the BBC Regional News programme NorthWest Tonight, winning two Royal Television Society Awards. As a BBC manager, she was responsible for upholding editorial standards and coaching journalists.

Since leaving BBC News, Fiona has worked for the BBC College of Journalism and ITV, training experienced journalists.  She also works as a media trainer for a variety of groups including local authorities and large corporate organisations.   She continues to work as a journalist and writer on occasions for different outlets.
