Elena (MA, CELTA) joined UCLan in 2015 as a research assistant after working abroad as MFL lecturer and examiner for several years.
She currently works on several research projects with the Research Team in English Language Testing, which produces English language exams at UCLan.
Her main areas of interest are modern foreign language teaching, testing and assessment, exams development, teachers’ education.
Elena graduated in Education in 2003 and then started working as a SEN teacher. A teaching placement in Austria during her studies led her to join a Postgraduate School to qualify as a Teacher of Italian as a Foreign Language in 2008.
During postgraduate school, she started working in Germany as a MFL teacher and examiner, where she developed an interest for language testing and assessment and resumed her studies in this area. In 2014, she completed an MA in Language Testing at Lancaster University.
