Eileen has worked in various clinical settings including acute medical nursing, acute surgical nursing, stroke rehabilitation and neurology. She is also a trained neonatal nurse working in NICU London, prior to entering into nursing education.
In August 1997 Eileen started her academic career as a Lecturer in Nursing at the Nanyang Polytechnic, Singapore, working there until August 2004. She was involved in teaching pre-registration and post-registration nursing.
She joined UCLan in Sept 2004 and has since achieved PG Certificate in learning and teaching in Higher Education. Her duties are predominantly teaching pre-registration nursing course. Other duties include a clinical link lecturer role. One of Eileen's roles is to provide support for part-time students. Her part-time link tutor role provides a transition for students adapting to a new environment and is favoured by students during the CFP year.
Eileen's interest in research includes anthropology, ethics related to health care and developments in nurse training.
