Duncan worked for Lancashire Constabulary for over twenty two years and for the vast majority of his career was an operational Detective at the ranks of Constable, Sergeant and Inspector. He worked predominantly in Covert Operations and has considerable experience in surveillance, undercover operations and the management of covert human intelligence sources. In addition to this he was a member of the Hostage and Crisis Negotiation Team and worked on several major incidents. Duncan has a Masters Degree in Police Leadership and Management which he obtained from the University of Leicester in 2009.
