Barrie is employed by the University as an E-Learning Facilitator for the School of Business and School of Sport and Wellbeing. He previously spent 14 years supporting academic learning technologies within technical services of School of Business. Whilst being employed in technical services he studied and completed a degree in web and multimedia. During his studies Barrie developed a keen interest in the use of e-learning as a medium for education. 

Full Profile

Since his appointment as E-Learning Facilitator Barrie has supported many academic staff in developing e-learning materials and have developed several learning modules for staff and students related to the technological and software infrastructure of e-learning. He also has a strong interest in taking these developments further for use in the FE and HE education sector. Barrie is currently following an interest in Web 2.0 tools to support mobile and e-learning.

PGCert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education

Research

Research into new emerging technologies and look at how these can be implemented in education.

Barrie has worked on the following projects:- TELSTAR,EVOLUTION, REVOLVE and currently on the team dealing with EREWHON Project with Beverly Leeds and Karl Lester.
