With a background as a Community Learning Disability Nurse, Anne-Marie started working at UCLan in 2004, and has been module leader for post-registration modules in leadership, clinical supervision and other areas of continuing professional development, as well as overseeing aspects of learning disability awareness across pre-registration and post-registration nursing programmes.
Anne-Marie has also retrained as an Integrative Psychotherapist at UCLan.

Anne-Marie trained as a Registered Nurse for People with Learning Disabilities in 1991, and has worked in a variety of in-patient and community settings, supporting people with a range of mental health needs, including forensics and secure care, and clients with learning disabilities and complex physical health care needs. As part of her nursing and care co-ordinator role, she was involved in the training, development and support of formal and informal carers in supporting the complex care needs of clients.
Anne-Marie joined UCLan in 2004, and works across post-registration nursing and allied health professional programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level, in the areas of continuing professional development such as clinical leadership and clinical supervision.
In 2013, Anne-Marie completed a 2 year part-time post graduate diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and is now a registered member of the BACP, and spends time in private practice as well as providing counselling voluntarily for the charity Women's Aid. She is working toward the completion of her MA.
