Full Profile

Alison is an alumnus of undergraduate public relations course from UCLan, she joined the Division of Public Relations and Communication Management in 2001. She had worked in public relations management roles since 1996, in-house for both an international tour operator and leading North West manufacturing company.

Her areas of expertise include corporate communication; strategic campaign planning; crisis management; media relations and event management. Alison completed her MSc in Corporate Communication and Reputation Management at UMIST. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and works with the CIPR North West sub group to arrange professional events throughout the region. She is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Research

In the process of registering for a research degree in a communications/business management related area.

Teaching

Currently teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the Division of Public Relations and Communication Management, Alison also has responsibility for the Division’s 48 week undergraduate public relations placement module and supervises undergraduate dissertations.

External Activities

Appointed as external examiner to the public relations course at the University of Chester in 2007.
