Simon is a Lecturer in Mental Health Division of the School of Nursing. Simon qualified as a mental health nurse in 2007 at UCLan. Prior to joining the University in 2016 he worked in Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust (LCFT) initially within adult acute inpatient services from 2008 as a registered nurse. During this post he completed both his BSc (Hons) and Grad Cert in Teaching Effective Aggression Management in 2010.

Following his appointment in adult services, Simon moved to work in Tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in 2010 as a Clinical Nurse. During this post he studied MSc Personality Disorder (Research) which he completed in 2014. Simon worked as a clinical nurse for 2 years before he became the Team Leader and then 2 year later he worked as part of the Outreach Team conducting Tier 4 CAMHS assessments for LCFT in Lancashire and South Cumbria CAMHS. Along his clinical work Simon worked as a Violence Reduction Instructor for LCFT since 2010, teaching both the physical, theoretical aspects of violence reduction and conflict resolution. Simon’s areas of interest are CAMHS, Personality Disorders, Trauma and Mindfulness-Based Interventions which he is currently studying.
