BSc(Hons) Architectural Technology

Hello and welcome to the pages dedicated to our BSc (Hons) Degree in Architectural Technology

The School’s Architectural Technology degree is an established course, offering full, part time and sandwich programmes of study. The course is fully accredited by the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technology (CIAT) and is well recognised for its quality within industry. This recognition of quality has been acknowledged at national and regional level with several of our students having won prestigious competition awards whilst studyng at UCLan.

The degree course provides new students with a perfect launch pad for those wishing to work in AT, whilst simultaneously offering an opportunity to existing practitioners who are looking to obtain formal qualifications and expand career opportunities. All students can expect specialist guidance in architectural design & detailing, with a particular emphasis on science and innovation in building. Students will develop expertise in the technological, management and legal aspects of construction, through studying a suite of carefully designed modules delivered by our highly experienced, multi-disciplinary team of teaching staff, many of whom are also active practitioners. Our aim is to offer a creative approach to teaching, making full use of our new studios and excellent facilities, and to ensure students have the opportunity to work on live projects and within interdisciplinary teams.
