About us
The School of Built and Natural Environment (SBNE) at the University of Central Lancashire is committed to developing professionals in the subject areas associated with the construction industry and the natural environment. The School comprises three academic units: Construction Management and Economics, Environment and Technology and Architecture. The School offers a variety of programmes and degrees focusing on and preparing students for professional careers in the construction, design and environment disciplines. The undergraduate programmes of the School are accredited by relevant professional bodies including the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the Chartered Institute of Building, the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers, the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists and the Chartered Institution of Waste Management.
In addition, a variety of Master’s and research degrees are offered by the School including Masters Degrees in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution, Architectural Conservation, Construction Project Management, Waste Management and Project Management. We maintain a strong commitment to our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and we have excellent facilities to support each major area of our course provision. The School curricula, encompassing sustainability, embraces broader social, economic, and environmental issues fundamental to understanding, preserving, and enriching our environment. Our School has a strong tradition of delivering programmes that provide students with the opportunity for academic and practical experience. This approach, coupled with our close involvement with employers, produces graduates who are highly regarded in the workplace.
