Full Profile

Educated at the University of Bradford (for both first and second degrees), Philip Whyman has worked in both public and private sectors, including a period spent as researcher for the trade union USDAW. 

Initially appointed as research assistant and lecturer in Economics at the University of Bradford, Professor Whyman spent a year as Research Fellow at the Statsvetenskapliga Institutionen of Stockholm University.

Alina's field of specialisation is Labour Economics, combined with a interdisciplinary approach on Human Resource Management (HRM) and Behaviour in Organisations. Her research interests include analysing the impact of HRM practices on job satisfaction, company performance and work effort, in Britain as well as in an international comparative context.
