Forensic Science

Forensic Science

In September 2000 we became the first University in the UK to offer a dedicated BSc (Hons) Forensic Science, designed and taught by forensic scientists, academics and crime scene investigators, and we continue to lead the field today. Since then many of our graduates have gone on to posts with the Forensic Science Service, private forensic science companies, and Crime Scene Investigation Units. Others have joined various constabularies as police officers, scientific support personnel, and intelligence analysts. Others still have gone on to undertake research at PhD level and study Medicine at graduate entry level.

As the leading provider of Forensic Sciences education in Europe we are unique in being able to offer Forensic Science students specialist options, not only in forensic Biology and Forensic Chemistry but also in Forensic Anthropology, Forensic Entomology, Forensic Medicine, Archaeology and Fire Engineering. It is this breadth and depth of professional and academic experience and knowledge that gives our graduates the edge in a very competitive field.

It is possible to study aspects of the forensic science degree along side aspects of the police and criminal investigation degree by studying BSc (Hons) Forensic Science and Criminal Investigation.

Forensic Science

Forensic science can be studied with specialist options as well as singularly.
