Additional Information

What do students think about this course?

Dafni Stampouli says, “I was attracted to UCLan and the Electronic Engineering course by the excellent facilities and up-to-date equipment but I made up my mind to study here when previous students talked to me about the dedication and commitment of UCLan staff to actively supporting all students individually.”

What careers can you follow?

The majority of graduates embark on careers in industries such as design and manufacture, medical and nuclear.

Opportunities for further study include a taught postgraduate MSc course in Digital Signal and Image Processing. The School has significant research activity in this area and graduates can study further for an MSc, MPhil or PhD in the Applied Digital Signal and Image Processing (ADSIP) Research Centre.

What work experience can I get?

Our placement tutors have close links with industry and can work with you to ensure that you get the skills and current knowledge that employers are looking for.  One of our recent graduates worked for a year at Siemens in Germany.

What are our graduates doing now?

Mike Clark said: ‘I realised that gaining a strong degree in Electronic Engineering would enable me to enter the aviation industry at a technical level.  I was immediately struck by the high level of care and planning that is obviously spent designing the Electronic and Computer Engineering courses. There was never any doubt in my mind that UCLan was the university for me.  Six weeks after graduation I was offered a role at BAE Systems as a flight systems engineer.’

What international opportunities are available?

UCLan has links with companies worldwide, and can therefore arrange for work experience in the UK or abroad.
