Our vision is that IIGE becomes a nationally and internationally recognised golf education institute which utilises its research, industry links, staff work placements, and student cohorts, to inform the development of golf policy and underpin the student learning experience.
The International Institute for Golf Education’s (IIGE) research forums are predominantly in areas of skill acquisition and player development. We have four sports Professors who supervise staff and student Phd and Masters level research in golf. Current areas of study include –
We also work with the Professional Golfers Association, the English Golf Union, and the PGA of Europe. UCLan is also contracted to develop the Level 4 UK Coaching Certificate, and is working hard to embed golf’s requirements into its developmental planning.

IIGE provides its students and partners with a wide range of events and competitions during the season. These include the season long Collegiate and Prospects Tours, representative leagues; British Universities and Colleges, British Colleges, English Colleges, and the Golf England Academy League, national and international matches, and a variety of corporate, sponsorship and charity events. The philosophy of the IIGE coaching team is to introduce players to as many alternative training techniques as possible. This allows players to make informed and educated decisions on which elements they adopt into their individual training programmes. IIGE coaches work with students’ own coaches in order to reinforce technical changes and support the golfer’s development. Our aim is to offer students a holistic approach to their development. All our golfers are different and as such they ultimately attach value to different performance methods, techniques, lifestyle approaches etc. Within IIGE we offer the golfer the space and scope to experiment and find those elements which complement the individual’s own personality.
