UCLan administrator provides inspiring answer and fronts glamorous national retail campaign as her reward
An academic administrator from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) has become one of ten faces to front a national high street marketing campaign.
Ashton-on-Ribble resident Amy Elderfield entered a competition, run jointly by Dove and retailer Wilkinson, to become one of Dove’s ‘Real Women’ when she answered the question: ‘What makes you feel beautiful?’.
Her answer: ‘Being loved by my gorgeous boyfriend and him telling me I’m beautiful when I feel at my worst’ clearly struck a chord with the competition judge.
Amy explained: “I’d completely forgotten entering the competition and then I got a call in June to say I’d been chosen as one of the winners. I was asked if I’d like to go to London to be involved in a Dove photoshoot and campaign for Wilkinson’s stores.”
As one of the ten winners, Amy was treated to a fabulous day of pampering, followed by a VIP photo shoot at the Worx Photography studio and a night’s stay at one of London’s top hotels.
“I am delighted with the photos taken on the day and can’t wait to see them in the Preston store. I’m really proud to be part of the Dove Real Women campaign.”
Amy added: “I had a great time being pampered and getting to know the other ladies on the campaign. I am delighted with the photos taken on the day and can’t wait to see them in the Preston store. I’m really proud to be part of the Dove real women campaign.”
Dove had an outstanding response to the competition with ladies entering from all over the UK from Aberdeen to Bournemouth. Its independent judge chose its ladies based purely on their answer to the question.
Dove is committed to celebrating beauty of all ages, ethnicities, shapes and sizes. It believes in celebrating real beauty and in raising the self-esteem of women and young girls globally.
The results of Amy’s photoshoot now appear on Wilkinson’s blog with more being posted online on the 21st October. Along with the other winners, Amy’s photographs are set to be displayed in Wilkinson’s stores across the country during this month. They already appear in Wilkinson’s Preston store on Friargate.
