The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) has once again triumphed over local rivals in an annual dragon boat race between five North West universities.

The 16-strong UCLan team from UCLan’s Confucius Institute beat off teams from four other Confucius Institutes at Edge Hill, Manchester, Lancaster and Liverpool universities to be crowned the winners for the third year in a row.

This year the event was hosted by Lancaster University with UCLan narrowly beating Edge Hill by 0.4 seconds in the final after four very close heat races.

"I am delighted that UCLan remains the undefeated champion of this popular annual event and the supporters enjoyed watching this exciting Chinese tradition.”
