Entries recognising exceptional achievement now sought

The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is supporting Barclays in its search for Lancashire’s top female business talent.

The bank has launched its second Celebrating North West Women in Business awards, in recognition of women who have made an outstanding contribution to business in the region.

UCLan will be assisting the shortlisting process to help determine the winners and is encouraging businesswomen across the county to come forward and enter.

Categories include Rising Star, Woman of the Year SME Business and Most Supporting Business Promoting Diversity and Citizenship.

Entries must be received by Friday May 4 and the winners will be announced at an awards lunch held at Tatton Park on Thursday July 5.

"Women from all sectors across the North West are securing key roles in businesses and we want to recognise exceptional achievements for the contribution they are making."

Former Professor Chris Pyke, Executive Dean of the Lancashire School of Business and Enterprise said: “We’re thrilled to be supporting the Barclays Women in Business Awards 2018. The North West has a thriving business community and it is important that we acknowledge success while at the same time encouraging more women to pursue their ambitions, with the help of the business support initiatives within our School.

“We look forward to being involved with the shortlisting process for the awards this year and hearing the success stories of inspiring businesswomen from the region.”

Shakira Musarat, Relationship Director for Barclays in Lancashire said; “Women from all sectors across the North West are securing key roles in businesses and we want to recognise exceptional achievements for the contribution they are making.
