Leading author to guest lecture at UCLan

Beatrix Campbell OBE to visit on 17 September

An award-winning journalist, author, broadcaster, campaigner and playwright is giving a free guest talk at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).

Beatrix Campbell OBE is visiting the Preston Campus on Wednesday 17 September as part of the University’s Distinguished Visitor Programme.

The green activist and leading feminist will discuss her new book, ‘End of Equality’. It is being described as “a book that joins the dots between neoliberalism and sexism, between equal pay, war zones, the veil, The Wire, the web and welfare states…a new way of thinking about where we’re at”.

The social commentator, who received her OBE for services to equality in Queen’s Birthday Honours List in 2009, will give her guest lecture in UCLan’s Darwin Lecture Theatre between 6.00pm and 8.00pm.
