Steph brings artists together to celebrate global event in Brazil

A Bury graphic design student has created an online space for artists to celebrate this year’s FIFA World Cup.

Steph Hamer, a BA Graphic Design student at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), has created the It’s a Draw website which allows artists, illustrators or anybody who enjoys drawing to submit illustrations of their favourite players or highlights of the competition, currently taking place in Brazil.

The 22-year-old from Bury said: “This website is an open invitation for everyone to grab their brushes and pencils and illustrate their favourite World Cup stars or moments to feature in our online gallery. All work that is submitted will be featured and is made available as downloadable posters.”

"It’s a Draw mimics the World Cup itself in that it is a global celebration and anyone can take part and get their work seen by a wide span of people."

Having spent a year working in industry at The Chase, a creative consultancy firm in Manchester, Steph said: “I used my links with The Chase to work with them on the project which I felt was fitting having spent a year there, plus they have strong links with Preston.”
