Public and community engagement

In early 2015 we undertook a month-long public engagement process to gather views on our Masterplan proposals.

In order to inform our final Masterplan document a range of engagement activities were undertaken including four Masterplan exhibition events, an online survey and the direct mailing of 64,000 properties in the PR1 and PR2 postcodes. We are very grateful for the input and ideas of over 1,000 people took part in the engagement process and who have helped to shape our plans.

View the detailed summary of the feedback from the engagement process (.pdf 220KB), together with the University’s responses to individual questions.

The Masterplan has been shaped by the following key principles:-

  • Create an accessible campus that welcomes the wider community
  • Present a confident and positive outlook
  • Deliver a place where people feel at ease
  • Reinforce connections with the city centre
  • Provide a new heart for UCLan
  • Establish an integrated network of routes and spaces
  • Exploit existing and add new buildings
  • Form a single campus identity: inside and out
  • Improve the student and staff experience
  • Deliver a healthy, safe and sustainable campus
