Why study The Outdoors?

UCLan has become recognised as one of the industry leaders in delivering outdoor programmes and has linked up with partners such as Rescue 3 (UK) and Pyranha kayaks in its course provision.

Theoretical and practical skills

Most of our programmes offer students the advantage of being based in the city of Preston, with monthly week-long residential practical programmes at the UCLan outdoor centre at Llangollen, North Wales.

All of our outdoor courses are run under the umbrella of UCLanSport, which allows sport and outdoor courses from across the university to be drawn together in the relevant areas of expertise.
