The Business Centre
The Business Centre aims to promote the work of both Schools to external organisations and partners and to help support developments, which are of benefit to the University, the business community and the region.
The Business Centre provides three core services:
Management and Professional Development
This service provides employers with the opportunity to work closely with The Business Centre to develop suitable training and educational programmes, which are accredited towards University awards. The Business Centre offers a range of flexible and accessible courses including short courses, accreditation of in-company training courses, degree programmes, tailored accredited programmes at undergraduate and masters degree levels.
Student Placements and Graduate Recruitment
This service works with students and organisations to arrange suitable work-based learning opportunities for our undergraduate students. Furthermore, the service also provides career planning advice and guidance for all final year students and can offer excellent facilities for employers to showcase their organisation and actively recruit graduates through The Business Centre and across the University.
Enterprise and Entrepreneurship
The Business Centre, through the services of the Institute for Innovation, Enterprise and Entrepreneurship (i2e2), works primarily within the regional community, helping to develop, support and sustain the growth of new businesses in the region.
Working in collaboration with external partners, i2e2 provides an invaluable service, helping to support targeted individuals, micro-businesses and early stage high growth businesses with their future business plans. Funded primarily through grant funding, the centre aims to be seen as a recognised centre of excellence within its field across the North West region.
