Institute for Global Youth Leadership and Community Action V-Action Project
V Action Project is part of the Institute for Global Youth Leadership and Community Action within the International School for Communities, Rights and Inclusion (ISCRI) at the University of Central Lancashire and aims to empower young people, locally, nationally and globally for positive change through an underpinning philosophy of peer led volunteering and community action.
Since 1999, UCLan has provided over 5,000 young people and students across Lancashire and Cumbria with volunteering and community action opportunities, and has successfully hosted Millennium Volunteers, Department for Education and Skills - Young Volunteer Challenge, North West Development Agency - BRAIN Programme, Fair Share Trust Mentoring, Positive Activities for Young People, Movin’ Up, Community Champions, Local Network Fund, National Research Foundation, and the Higher Education Funding Council for England – HE Active Community Volunteering.
V-Action currently deliver V-Involved, Higher Education Volunteering (HEV), Touch Peer Led Health Promotion Project, Young Roots, European Social Fund – ‘Ambassadors of the Future’ NEET Project, AWAZ Film Project for Girls, Jinnah Diamond Youth Project, Global Youth Leaders Training Programme, Centre for Citizenship at Marsden Heights Community College, and a portfolio of accreditation from AQA Units through to undergraduate certificates, undergraduate degree programmes and postgraduate programmes within the International School for Communities, Rights and Inclusion.
