Ebrahim Bassa joined ISCRI in 2008 and became Director of Business Development. He is a highly experienced economic development consultant with over 25 years experience as a regeneration specialist focussing particularly on community based intervention and social inclusion programmes. He has a vast range of experience that brings in senior level management to project delivery on the ground. Ebrahim is also leading on major international partnerships for the University and is the lead Consultant for India.
He is a founding Director of E K Bassa Limited, a consultancy aiming to bring new thinking to area based regeneration and the role of communities in their areas. Prior to establishing his own consultancy practice Ebrahim was a director with Enterprise plc where he gained invaluable experience across the UK and Europe. Between 1987 and 1998 he worked on Government teams dealing with community based regeneration and was the initial thinker in the establishment of area based delivery structures in Blackburn.
During 2001 and 2007 Ebrahim has played an active commercial role in India and established three commercial joint ventures in Mumbai, Baroda and Cochin. Ebrahim has developed extensive hands-on experience of the legal, financial and banking systems in India and commercial and cultural ethics of the Country.
