About us
UCLan Chamber Choir was established in 2005. It was created by its director, Mark Goggins.
It comprises undergraduate students on the Music Theatre degree at the University of Central Lancashire. Originally made up of sixteen voices (4 in each section) the choir now numbers 26 (8 sopranos, 6 altos, 6 tenors and 6 basses).
The choir rehearses each Tuesday evening during term time. In addition there are occasional sectional rehearsals in the morning before classes begin.
The choir now has a growing reputation in the north west and beyond and is receiving ever more invitations to sing at a variety of events. It has now become an established part of the Graduation Ceremonies at the University.
The choir has an eclectic repertoire covering many musical styles, genres and periods of history.
In October 2009 the Choir won the 2009 Good Housekeeping Choir of the Year competition.
