We are now recruiting for September intake Nuclear Safety, Security and Safeguards (MSc, PG Dip, PG Cert options), a new postgraduate programme which will equip students with the knowledge and skills to make an effective contribution to nuclear safety and security in UK and worldwide operations. The programme is based on international principles of nuclear safety and security, has wide applicability and is delivered in an convenient block delivery format that minimises time away from the work place. The innovative Certificate in Scientific and Technical Aspects of Nuclear Waste course addresses the technical leadership requirements for the safe and cost effective management of nuclear waste. Nuclear decommissioning and waste management will extend over several decades and ensuring that skilled engineers, scientists and project managers are available is a key consideration for all stakeholders. The course will appeal to existing personnel in the UK nuclear industry looking to take on a managerial, technical or project role and to those wishing to join. The MSc in Globalisation and Nuclear Energy Futures course for professionals in the sustainable development, energy and environmental sectors provides an intellectually stimulating insight into key issues surrounding the global planning, production and delivery of energy. With modules exploring UK civil nuclear policy, governance issues, theories and cases, sustainability and sustainable communities, 21st Century Energy globalisation and security and renewable energy policy and governance, this masters level programme addresses some of the most important challenges facing the world. It is aimed in particular at those working in public and policy-facing roles involved with stakeholder, public and external relations in the design and implementation of projects in the energy sector.
